THE PINK CUPCAKE!

The last several weeks we have FINALLY moved into our new home. A courtyard home (aka condo) ~ my new cottage! I have really depended on Mr. B a great deal and he has really really been patient with my "to do" list. The list seems to be growing daily and the unpacked boxes seem to grow along with it!

Driving home today I noticed we now have a "Gigi's" and decided to take a gander. Oh my goodness, this place specializes in CUPCAKES. My initial thought was, Mr. B has a sweet tooth and since he has been so patient and helpful he certainly deserved a surprise dessert. The intent was honest, buy "one" cupcake. Well, the choice was slim being at the end of the day but the cupcakes in the case were covered in chocolate chips with tons of fluffy icing. I turn my head and what do I see, one beautiful pink cupcake, also covered with chocolate chips. (Mrs. B has been working really hard too ... so I walked out with two cupcakes.

Supper was not over quick enough . . . I had to bite into the dessert. Strawberry icing and in the middle, creamy, dark chocolate, did I say "chocolate" icing? Mrs. B indulged and will have to do extra time on the treadmill but worth every minute!

Estate Vignette
treas•ure (trzhr) n.
1. Accumulated or stored wealth in the form of money, jewels,
or other values.
2. Valuable or precious possessions of any kind.
3. One considered especially precious or valuable.

Perhaps the best place to discover that perfect treasure is the estate sale, estate auctions and tag sales. I am one who appreciates antiques, vintage and collectibles and the bliss that comes from a day consumed in the auctions. I have spent the last two Saturdays at estate sales followed by using my Sunday afternoons admiring my treasures and poring through information that will provide me their history. (Yes, I suppose this may be a bit overboard, but for me, it's part of the find.)

Compact, pottery, bisque, head vases, linens and, well there are too many to list tonight. Cottage Heirlooms is in the early stages of opening and look forward to your visit soon!

Estate Sales . . .

I am one who appreciates antiques, vintage and collectibles and the bliss that comes from a day at an Estate Auction. I have spent the last two Saturdays at estate sales followed by using my Sunday afternoons admiring my treasures and poring through information that will provide me their history. (Yes, I suppose this may be a bit overboard, but for me, it's part of the find.) Sometimes these sales are held as "tag" sales (where every item is tagged with a price to sell) or an Estate Auction where the auctioneer accepts bids on items and the items sell for the highest bid. Shopping estate sales can be a great way to score deals on collectibles and antiques. Perhaps the best place to discover that perfect treasure is the estate sale. Estate sales differ from a yard or garage sale in that an Estate Sale is typically held to sell every item in a home. Most Estate Sales are held as a result of a serious illness, death, downsizing or move to a Retirement or Assisted Living Center. Compact, pottery, bisque, head vases, linens and, well there are too many to list tonight. Cottage Heirlooms is in the early stages of opening and look forward to your visit soon!
